Zoe turned one and reluctantly posed for this portrait. She never sits still, so the photo shows her in a rare moment of calm.
I intended to return to posting early in the month, but right after the funeral it snowed 8 inches. Charlie dutifully cleared it all day only to realize that he had Covid. Then I came down with it several days later. I had avoided the virus for four years, but it finally caught up with me. I am just beginning to catch up with delayed tasks including taking a very shaggy dog to the groomer.
I have missed connecting through our posts and hope to be back writing on a regular schedule again.
Zoe reminds me of Ollie. He rarely likes having a photo taken.
I hope you fully recover soon. I had covid in Dec 22-Jan 23 and it was awful.
Best wishes, Pete.

I certainly wonder how it might have leveled me without all the vaccines.

So sorry to hear of your illness Elizabeth. I hope you and Charlie are feeling much better now and that there are no long lasting effects.

Coffee finally tastes good again. That was the only annoying effect.

Glad you’re back Elizabeth. ☺️ And how cute is Zoe!
Wow 8″ of snow & we’ve been in a heatwave of 40C+ this month in the Southern hemisphere.
Blessings, Jennifer

Glad to hear you’re on the rebound, Elizabeth. The only way I can get our dog to stay still for a photo is to hold food in my hand at the same time I’m snapping a picture.

I think Zoe was tired after her grooming and stared into blissful space for a brief moment.

I too managed not to come down with Covid for four years and hope to continue doing so. I’m “doggone” sorry to hear it caught up with you — hopefully, its bark is worse than its bite, and you’ll be back to your (not so) old self soon.
Take care.

I am afraid I was getting kind of annoying about my avoidance. It wasn’t too bad probably because of the 15(LOL) shots.

I am sorry to hear you’ve been ill, Elizabeth. My family has all just had Covid again. It’s our fourth time and we all try to be careful.

Wow. I can’t believe how persistent it has been despite all our caution.

Yes, it is still a miserable illness even if most people now recover from it.

My best friend just got it for the third time. I guess it doesn’t give any immunity.

It doesn’t seem to give much immunity. All of us found our recent illness as bad, or worse, than the previous times 🤷♀️

That has been true for some friends also.

I think the key is “keep up with boosters” then it might not be so bad. Of course, I’ve had it twice – once when it was still bad to get, and then a sneaky little reminder less than a year later. Touch wood doing all right now…
I’d love some snow, so cooling – been heat “wave after wave” in my new region in New Zealand.
