A Gentle Reminder

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Apparently a free press was seen as essential to avoid too much power resting in the Federal government. Apparently our founders saw the free press as a friend, not an enemy, of the people.

Thank a truth telling reporter today.

  1. I have thanked a truth-telling reporter today–more than one in fact–and I am grateful for every one who has the courage to investigate and report the truth, often at the peril of his or her livelihood and sometimes at the peril of their lives. Now I thank YOU, from the bottom of my heart, for posting this.
